About BASIL BARON

“Basil Baron, the stunning 8-year-old Bichon Poodle, has graced our rescue with his presence after a challenging journey from the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter, where he arrived as a stray. When Basil came to us, he was suffering from kennel cough, which unfortunately progressed to pneumonia. It was evident that this twelve-pound, long-legged poodle had never experienced the comforts of a loving home. However, with time and care, Basil has blossomed into a healthy fifteen-pound companion who now relishes his homemade meals. In the early days, Basil was hesitant with food due to his illness, but his appetite gradually improved. From the very first night, he trembled with fear, fearing he had done something wrong. To comfort him, I cradled him throughout the night, assuring him that he was safe and loved. Basil deserves undivided attention, care, and affection, which is why we believe he would thrive as the only dog in his forever home. An avid lover of ball play, Basil’s enthusiasm knows no bounds. Even during his illness, he would bring balls to my lap, urging me to throw them. Playing ball became his cherished pastime, and he would gladly engage in it all day long. Recently, Basil had his first professional grooming session, impressing everyone with his impeccable behavior and sweetness towards the groomer. He exhibits excellent car manners and gets along well with other rescues in his foster home. While he will bark protectively at the gardener and the poolman, we consider it to be appropriate. But let’s not forget, Basil’s true passion lies in the game of ball! Basil has undergone extensive medical care, including blood panels, dental work, X-rays reviewed by a radiologist, neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping. Although he has a grade two heart murmur, it can be managed with three affordable medications for the rest of his life. Now in excellent overall health, Basil is eagerly awaiting his forever home, where playing ball will be an integral part of his days. To adopt Basil, we kindly request that you be retired with an adult at home throughout the day. While a mellow female companion would be suitable, Basil can thrive as the sole focus of your attention. He will do well in public settings, making him an ideal companion for travel, golf outings, or a busy social life. Of course, if you prefer the comforts of home, Basil would be more than content with that too. We believe he would be comfortable around grandkids or anyone who is willing to indulge his love for ball play! Our adoption donation for adult dogs is $750.00, reflecting the care and support we provide to all our rescued companions. If you feel a connection with Basil and can offer him the loving home he deserves, we encourage you to apply for him today. Let the ball games begin with Basil by your side, bringing endless joy and laughter into your life!”
