The photographer is sometimes given an opportunity to share time with a being, who in the first minute of contact, reaches into your soul and gives you a vision of why the canines were placed on this planet. One look into Pepi’s eyes and you know. Her egoless smiles are astoundingly free from … judgment and opinion and are given without thought for anything in return. Well, almost anything… with the very least on the human side, the canines appreciate a kind touch, time spent together exploring the bond, a hug of togetherness, and the realization that she lives the knowledge of Mitakuye Oyasin… we are all related on many, many levels. Pepi will be your instant best friend. She was, thankfully, difficult to capture her pictures in frame. Pepi just wanted to remain close throughout the photo session. Pepi, without pretense, demonstrated her sprite athleticism as she hopped up and posed on the agility platform every time the photographer invited. Pepi is house trained, sits on request, interacts wonderfully with other canines, and showed amazing eye/mouth coordination as she scored an astounding 90% as she caught treats tossed to her by a photographer endowed with limited accuracy. Right-handed Pepi will also shake a paw with you and then extend her other paw for a two-handed paw shake. At the session end, she leaned up on the fence and put her head on the human’s shoulder, reaching up and giving a sweet, sweet kiss on his cheek. As a volunteer at the Humane Society, we have many, way too many chances to wonder how any human could callously, and even with a defining awareness, discard an animal that has selflessly given their life to them. Pepi doesn’t hold anger or resentment inside. Wow… the canines have much to teach. Pepi has the gift of unconditional love that is within all of us but is sometimes very difficult to find in human form. She is waiting for your love at the Humane Society for Animals in Rogers, AR.
