SUMMER GOLDEN

Home Dog Adoption SUMMER GOLDEN

About SUMMER GOLDEN

Summer Golden and her sister Phoebe were surrendered to the rescue because they were considered too small for their previous owners’ larger dogs and were constantly crated. They were originally purchased from a Yorkie breeder in San Bernardino County. Summer, weighing 7 pounds, is not expected to grow much larger than 9 pounds. During her settling-in period, it is crucial for Summer to be the only dog in her new home to feel safe and secure. She is a Yorkshire Terrier, known for their intelligence and soulfulness. Currently fostered with three other small female dogs, Summer used to rely on Phoebe for guidance, but they have been separated to help her gain confidence. She has made great progress in running and playing with her new furry friends. Although a bit shy at first, Summer is playful, sweet, and loves spending nap time in your lap. She is smart, travels well in the car without getting sick, and happily sleeps in bed with her foster mom. Each day, she becomes more confident with her foster dad. Summer is already potty trained to use pads and go outdoors in her foster home, but it will take a few weeks for her to adjust to your family, home, and routine. To adopt Summer, you should be semi-retired with an adult at home, have experience with Yorkshire Terriers, and be willing to take her everywhere with you. She may experience some separation anxiety initially due to her history of changing homes. If you’re interested in meeting this precious dog and giving her a loving forever home, please apply for her today!
